Interceptor Plus – Heartworm and Intestinal Worm Protection

Interceptor Plus is a monthly, chewable tablet for the protection against dangerous intestinal worms in dogs. It has been formulated with the combination of powerful active ingredients; milbemycin oxime and praziquantel in a chicken-flavored chewable tablet for an easy administration. This tasty chews is indicated for the prevention of heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of adult roundworm, adult hookworm, adult whipworm, and adult tapeworm for a full one month. It is approved for dogs and puppies 6 weeks of age or older and 2 pounds of body weight or greater.

How it works?

Interceptor Plus combines two powerful active ingredients to provide such broad-spectrum protection. Each chewable flavored tablet is formulated to provide a minimum of 0.23 mg/pound (0.5 mg/kg) of milbemycin oxime and 2.28 mg/pound (5 mg/kg) of praziquantel.

Milbemycin oxime kills roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and immature heartworms by interfering with the central nervous system of the parasites, causing paralysis and death. Praziquantel, the other active ingredient works by expelling tapeworms from the intestines and preventing newly hatched insect larvae from reaching adulthood or reproducing.

Note: Prior to administration of any heartworm prevention product, dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infections.

Directions

It may be offered to the dog by hand or added to a small amount of dog food.
When added to food, make sure that the dog consumes the complete dose.
Administer to dogs and puppies 6 weeks or older and weighing 2 pounds or greater.
It should be administered orally once every month, at the minimum dosage of 0.23 mg/lb (0.5 mg/kg) milbemycin oxime, and 2.28 mg/lb (5 mg/kg) praziquantel.
